FOR HONESTY AND BRAVERY : Senator Alfredo S. Lim hands over Marine Brigadier Gen. Francisco Gudani the proceeds of the "Piso para sa Katotohanan" campaign in simple ceremonies held at the Senate. The campaign was launched in an effort to support the financial needs of Gudani and Lt. Col. Alexander Balutan and Capt. Marlon Mendoza, who suffered political backslash after testifying before the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security on what they knew about the alleged cheating in the May 2004 elections. Gudani's retirement benefits were put on hold pending the outcome of the court martial proceedings initiated against him and Balutan. The campaign raised more than P1 million for the three officers.
