SENATE APPROVES DILG BUDGET FOR 2013: The Senate Committee on Finance, chaired by Sen. Frankin Drilon, approved the P91 billion budget of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for 2013. The proposed budget will be used for the hiring of more police personnel in 2013, construction of local roads in various cities and municipalities, building of health centers, housing and public markets as well as acquisition of fire trucks for the Bureau of Fire Protection.
