ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government, conducts a hearing discussing several measures aimed at providing additional benefits to barangay officials all over the country. The proposed benefits include, among others, providing for a lump sum retirement pay for barangay officials and health workers, and the granting of special financial assistance and benefits to the family or beneficiary of any barangay officer killed or incapacitated while on duty.
