SENATE PROBES MRT MISHAP: Senator Grace Poe, co-chair of Senate Committee on Public Service, questions officials of the Department of Transportation and Communications during the inquiry of the Aug. 31 2014 Metro Rail Transit (MRT) mishap when a MRT train derailed and overshot its track at the EDSA-Taft station, causing injuries to at least 30 individuals. Poe also asked government officials to re-examine the current public and mass transport system in the country for the purpose of planning for the next half century.
