FISHERIES CODE: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, chairperson of the Senate Agriculture and Food Committee, questions Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Director Asis Perez on the amendments to the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998, and the reasons for the changes. Perez made a presentation on legislative reforms to curb IUU fishing, which refers to fishing activities which do not comply with national, regional or international fisheries conservation or management legislation.
