JAPAN DONATES EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT: Senate President Franklin M. Drilon on Sunday, November 23, 2014, received from Kenji Kosaka (second from left), Member of the House of Councilors of Japan and President of Japan-Philippines Parliamentarian Friendship League (JPPFL), a photo of 17 emergency vehicles donated by Japan to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for the use of municipalities devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. Drilon, President of the Philippines-Japan Parliamentarians Association (PJPA), thanked the Japanese government for being one of the earliest nations to respond and help areas struck by typhoon Yolanda, at one point sending 1,2000 Japanese servicemen to aid rescue and rehabilitation efforts, and has provided nearly $116 million dollars to Yolanda victims in aid.
