RIGHT TO FOOD: Sen. Cynthia Villar and Sen. Koko Pimentel met with United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Hilal Elver at the Senate yesterday. Villar, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, updated Hilal on the legislation they are working on to address food security in the county, including the amendments to the Fisheries Code, the bill strengthening the sugar industry and the bill that will create a trust fund to support the coconut farmers.
