SENATE HONORS OUTSTANDING WOMEN: Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, the country's prima ballerina, shows Sen. Pia Cayetano and Sen. Cynthia Villar the pointe shoes she wore in her 'La Bayadere' performance. The shoes are among the items on display at the Senate in the exhibit called "Empowering Filipinas: Raising the Bar." In time for Women's Month, the Senate adopted a resolution honoring 14 outstanding Filipinas and an all-woman mountaineering team. Villar said the feat of women who continue to bring honor to the country should be recognized and their active role in nation-building replicated by the youth.
