COMMITTEE HEARING: Senator Chiz Escudero, chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, discusses with officials of the River Basin Coordinating Office several measures proposing to adopt and institutionalize the Integrated River Basin Management Approach as a comprehensive framework in developing and managing the country's river basin systems. During the hearing, on Tuesday, August 18, Escudero stresses the need to maximize economic and social benefits derived from water resources which he says are necessary to restore the country's freshwater ecosystems.
