BAMBOO PLANTING: Senator Cynthia A. Villar leads the ceremonial planting of bamboo at the Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical abitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) in line with the country's bamboo reforestation program. Villar, a known environmental advocate, was joined by Sec. Nereus Acosta (in stripes polo), LLDA general manager and presidential adviser for environmental protection; Lourdes Wagan (in checkered polo), DENR-NRC Director and Sofio B. Quintana (in black polo shirt) DENR-NCR Asst. Regional Director for Technical Services. The senator has been supportive of the bamboo industry because it is a good source of income and livelihood for poor families.
