BASECO CLEAN UP AND MANGROVE PLANTING: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, a known environmental advocate, leads the clean-up and mangrove planting activities at Gasangan, Brgy. 649, BASECO, Manila. The senator laments they continue to collect truckloads of solid wastes in the area. She also observes that the quality of water of Manila Bay remains poor. It has also been deteriorating amid the Supreme Court's writ of continuing mandamus ordering 13 government agencies to clean up and rehabilitate the bay.
