SSS PENSION INCREASE: Sen. Cynthia Villar urged George Ongkeko Jr., Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary of the Social Security System (SSS) to give more benefits to the 33 million SSS members by improving their collection efficiency. During the hearing of the Committee on Government Corporations and Public Enterprises chaired by Sen. Richard Gordon, the bill granting a P2,000 across-the-board increase in the pension of 1.9 million SSS members was approved.
