JV EJERCITO RECEIVES PETITIONS FILED BY PRIESTS, ANTI-MINING GROUPS IN SUPPORT FOR LOPEZ’S CONFIRMATION AS ENVIRONMENT SEC: Senator JV Ejercito receives a bulk of petition folders turned over by Bishop Emeritus Ramon Cabrera Arguelles (second to the left) and priests, members of Alyansa Tigil Mina (ATM), and of Global Catholic Climate Movement-Philippines, in support of the sweeping environment protection advocacies of Secretary Gina Lopez, who is set to be confirmed by the powerful Commission on Appointments.

The group which paid a courtesy call today (February 28) to Senator Ejercito sought for CA members with vested mining interests to inhibit themselves from the confirmation proceedings of Environment Secretary Lopez.

Secretary Lopez’s confirmation set for tomorrow March 1, 2017 was cancelled just today.
