GREEN CLIMATE FUND (GCF): Senator Loren Legarda (4th from right) with delegates from Asian countries at the three-day Green Climate Fund (GCF) Structured Dialogue in Asia, which opened today in Bali, Indonesia. The GCF is actively seeking out country proposals for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Legarda said that now that the Philippines has acceded to the Paris Agreement, the country must seize the opportunity to access funding for its climate adaptation and mitigation programs.

On April 28, Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committees on Climate Change and Finance, will be among the panelists at the high level panel discussion on Asia’s ambition for utilizing climate finance through GCF. The session will be moderated by GCF Executive Director Howard Bamsey and Indonesia’s Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
