MAKING WORTHY PROJECTS FROM PLASTIC WASTES: Senator Cynthia Villar has been promoting responsible waste management, particularly plastic wastes, since the Philippines ranked third, next to China and Indonesia (among the 192 countries surveyed) in terms of volume of plastic wastes that can enter the seas and oceans. The senator, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Environment & Natural Resources, was the guest speaker at Unilever Philippines' Misis Walastik Program Launch. The plastic wastes collected under the program will be processed and recycled into school chairs at the waste plastics factory of Villar SIPAG.
