AGRICULTURE AND FOOD HEARING: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, questions resource persons from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and local officials from Albay and Quezon regarding proposals seeking to establish multi-specialty marine hatcheries in their areas. “Establishing multi-specialty marine hatcheries contribute to the growth and development of the fisheries sector. I am optimistic that this will help increase the income of fisherfolks, who, like farmers, remain among the poorest in our country,” Villar said.
