POSTPONING THE BARANGAY ELECTIONS: Senator Richard Gordon on Monday, September 18, 2017, delivers his committee report on the postponement of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections from October this year to October next year “to provide ample time for the government to maintain peace and order and protect the general welfare of the people”. Committee Report No. 163 authored, by Gordon and Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, would also allow President Rodrigo Duterte to appoint officers-in-charge (OICs) in the barangays.
