Nene Pimentel backs separate voting for Chacha: Former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. expresses his support for the Senate and the House of Representatives voting separately during the proposed Constituent Assembly that would tackle amendments or revisions of the 1987 Constitution during the Senate hearing on Charter Change, Wednesday, January 17, 2018. While Pimentel expressed support for revising the Constitution via Congress convening jointly as a Constituent Assembly, he said that both chambers must vote separately. “Otherwise the 24 senators, even if they are to act as one, would suffer fates worse than those who were swallowed by the Fukushima tsunami some time ago," he said. Also in photo are (L-R) Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, along with former Supreme Court Chief Justices Hilario Davide Jr. and Reynato Puno.
