Sen. Cynthia Villar pushes for the use of local milk in feeding program: Sen. Cynthia Villar, chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Food, pushed for the use of locally-produced milk in the country's school feeding program to help solve malnutrition among children and to help provide livelihood opportunities to poor dairy farmers. During the deliberation on Senate Bill 1279 of the 'Pagkaing Pinoy para sa Batang Pinoy Act," Villar said the ready local market for milk will encourage farmers to produce more and improve our dairy production which stands at 1 percent of the demand at present.
