Pimentel welcomes Mexican Ambassador: Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III received the Ambassador of the United Mexican States to the Philippines, Gerardo Lozano, last Monday, February 12, 2018. During the call, Pimentel said that he shared lessons learned from Mexico’s experience as a Federal Republic, including the unique role of its Senate in foreign policy-making. Ambassador Lozano expressed the need to also balance decentralization and the respect for different cultures in a federal system. They also discussed the need to collaborate and exchange best practices on the protection of migrant workers, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction as well as the cultivation of historical relations between the two countries.
