Manifestation to intervene vs quo warranto: Opposition Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila M. de Lima, represented by her legal counsel, former Solicitor General Florin T. Hilbay, present to the members of the Senate press today, April 19, the manifestation they filed before the Supreme Court seeking to dismiss the quo warranto petition against Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno. Trillanes and De Lima have asked the High Court to allow them to intervene in the deliberation of the quo warranto petition, arguing that under the 1987 Constitution, it is the Senate which has the sole jurisdiction to remove impeachable officials like Sereno.
