Strengthening LGUs for inclusive growth: Senator Sonny Angara, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government, conducted a public hearing covering 11 proposed amendments on the Local Government Code recommended by the DILG and ADB, bills adding benefits for barangay workers, proposals to create mandatory positions in LGUs and the institutionalization of the Seal of Good Local Governance.

"For growth to be inclusive, we need to empower LGUs by giving them more powers and funds to ensure a more efficient, effective and responsive delivery of basic services,” said Senator Sonny Angara.
