Commencement Speech: Senator Loren Legarda encouraged graduates to pursue the never-ending aspiration of an Isko and an Iska to attain academic freedom and contribute to the betterment of this country as she delivered her Commencement Speech during the 107th General Commencement Exercise of the University of the Philippines Diliman this morning, June 24. Legarda told the graduates that beyond book learning or getting high grades, studying for her is a way of looking for answers and solutions, of getting things done at the end of one’s inquiry. Moreover, the Senator paid attention to the shouts of a group student during the 107th General Commencement Exercises, calling for the resumption of the GRP-NDFP peace talks. Students tried to catch the attention of faculty and guests by waving banners and shouting chants to the crowd.
