Sen. Cynthia A. Villar at the Thrift Banks meet: Sen. Cynthia A. Villar tackles the proposed amendments to Republic Act (RA) 10000 of the Agri Agra Reform Credit Act of 2009 or the Agri Agra Law. Speaking during the Chamber of Thrift Banks General Membership Meeting, Villar says she is particularly interested in this matter because access to cheap credit or the lack of it, is among the often cited barriers that prevent farmers and fisherfolks from being successful. As chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, Villar says she has been working on removing those barriers.
