Taking a bite out of crime: Senator Richard J. Gordon (center) and the members of the bicameral conference committee (left to right: Congressmen Joseph Paduano, Ferdinand L. Hernandez, Senator Gregorio Honasan, Congressmen Romeo Acop, Cesar V. Sarmiento, and Victor Yap) enjoy a light moment after fine-tuning the final version of Senate Bill No. 1397 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act of 2017. SBN 1397 is a game-changing law that seeks to impose bigger, readable and color-coded number plates for motorcycles to obviate riding-in-tandem crimes. The bicameral conference was held on December 5 at the Committee Room 2.
