Turning Baseco into a model site: In line with her advocacy to make Baseco Compound in Tondo, Manila, a model site for community rehabilitation, Sen. Cynthia Villar leads the distribution of fishing boats, tri-bikes and kitchen utensils to its residents and tree planting in the area. The senator, chair of the Senate Committees on Agriculture and Food and Environment and Natural Resources, was joined by representatives from the DENR, DepEd, DPWH, MMDA, Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran ng Baseco, MBC-DZRH and Gasangan barangay officials. The senator, seeking re-election in May, has been known for providing livelihood opportunities on top of espousing a clean and green environment.
