Progressive health policies for the next generation: Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros on Thursday discussed major laws affecting the Filipino children at the "National Summit for Filipino Children: From Practice to Policy," organized by the Philippine Ambulatory Pediatric Association in Quezon City. Hontiveros talked about the recently passed landmark measures such as the Expanded Maternity Leave Law, the Universal Health Care Law, and the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act. These laws, she said, promote a healthier society where children are given better opportunities to achieve their dreams and hope for a better future.
