New Senate building: Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel F. Zubiri joined Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Committee on Accounts chairman and lead of the transfer of the Senate, and fellow Senators today, March 18, 2019 at the Philippine Navy compound. The Senators deposited the time capsule containing the Adopted Senate Resolution No. 110 entitled "Resolution confirming the winner of the Global Conceptual Design Competition for the new building of the Senate of the Philippines"; Committee Report No. 170 entitled "Construction of Senate building"; Adopted Senate Resolution No. 293 entitled "Resolution creating an ad hoc committee tasked to conduct a feasibility study on the construction of a new Senate Building and relocation of the Senate thereto"; the History of the Senate, first page of the day's issues of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the Philippine Star, and Manila Bulletin; and a copy of the Keynote Message of Sen. Pres. Sotto. Sen. Pres. Protempore Recto, Minority Leader Drilon, Senators Binay, Legarda, Honasan, Angara, Villanueva and Gatchalian also graced the groundbreaking.
