Villar vows to pursue legislations to spur the growth and development of cooperatives: Speaking before the 28th Annual General Assembly of Simbayanan ni Maria Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SMMPC), reelectionist Sen. Cynthia A. Villar recognizes the humble beginning and eventual success of SMMPC which serves as an inspiration to many. This earned for them the Villar SIPAG Outstanding Community Enterprise award. The establishment of cooperatives has been among the advocacies of Villar in fighting reducing poverty and uplifting the lives of poor Filipinos.
