Courtesy Call: Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III receives British Ambassador to the Philippines, Daniel Robert Pruce, at the Philippine Senate where they discussed ways to foster more robust political, economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and the UK. The Senate President updated Ambassador Pruce on the future composition of the Philippine Senate after the recently-concluded 2019 mid-term elections. He also apprised the Ambassador of the legislative measures that the Senate would like to approve in the remaining weeks of the 17th Congress as well as prioritize for the 18th Congress which opens in July. Ambassador Pruce then assured the Senate President that Philippines-UK relations will continue to remain strong despite Brexit. Accompanying the Senate President were Senators Gregorio B. Honasan II and Panfilo M. Lacson.
