Villar urges level playing field for large and small firms: As a way to level the playing field for both large and small enterprises, Sen. Cynthia Villar urged financial institutions to cater to the needs of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Particularly, Villar urged Land Bank of the Philippines to put up a facility to help farmers and fisherfolks. As chair of the Senate agriculture and food committee, Villar said lack of access to cheap credit is among the barriers to competitiveness that agricultural workers face. The senator was among the panelists in the MSME Summit 2019 on Inclusive and Sustainable Innovation for Globally Competitive MSMEs held at the Philippine Intertional Convention Center in Pasay City.
