PIMENTEL CONDEMNS SLAY ATTEMPT
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) today condemned the slay attempt on broadcaster Joe Pantoja of the Manila Broadcasting Company Love Radio who was fired upon by still unidentified gunman this morning in Iligan City. "The ambush of Joe Pantoja of Iligan City is another gruesome statistics of the perils of journalism under this administration," Pimentel said in a statement from Geneva, Switzerland. The senator from Mindanao called on the police authorities to identify, track down and apprehend the assailants of Pantoja. Pantoja is now fighting for his life and doctors are performing operations to remove five bullets from his body. |
