REVILLA TO RECEIVE AWARD IN HOLLYWOOD

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. is set to fly to the United States this week to receive an award in Hollywood for his achievement as an actor and a politician.

The senator was chosen by NuVision Worldwide Media, a Hollywood-based Filipino multi-media company, as a recipient of the 2008 Filipino-American Vision Award for Courage and Honor.

In their invitation letter, NuVision Worldwide Media Chairman and CEO Ramil Gonzales said Revilla's exemplary achievements as a senator, governor, and actor as well as other contributions the lawmaker have made to society brings great honor to Filipinos throughout the world. The awarding ceremony- the First Annual Filipino-American Vision Awards- will be held on March 7 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, home of Hollywood 's Biggest Awards Night.

"This star-studded red carpet event will showcase the best Filipino achievers and entertainers in the Philippines and the United States . We would like to honor those, like yourself, who through their success and achievements put the Filipino people among the elite in the world," Gonzales said in the letter.

Aside from Revilla, among those who will also be honored in the event is his father, former senator and present Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) Chairman Ramon Revilla Sr.

Also invited as honorees and performers include GMA7, ABS-CBN, Comedy King Dolphy, RGMA President Mike Enriquez, ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, Black eyed Peas member Allan "Apl de Ap" Pineda, Hollywood Actor Mark Dacascus, Hollywood Actress Tia Carere, Nicole Sherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls and People's Champ Manny Pacquiao.

NUVision Worldwide Media will also be giving a remembrance award for the late King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr.
