Interview with Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano : Re Minority report

SENATOR ALAN CAYETANO: Well usually, mas matanda ung aso at mas bata ung tuta. Hindi ko alam in this case, but it's not about personalities, name-calling. Ung executive order na ipinagbabawal ang mga tao na umatend dito, ung mabilisang paglabas ng pondong un at ang pagsabi ni Secretary Boncodin na she assures may approval ito ng presidente, ung pag-appoint kay Bolante, ung authority kay Bolante na siya lang ang gumawa nito. Why don't they continue the fertilizer scam, tingnan ung listahan ng officials na nandun, tingnan ung listahan ng NGOs, suppliers at foundations. At bakit hindi ipagpatuloy ung hearing? Unless ung presidentiables are already thinking of 2010 at ayaw masaktan ung mga ibang matatapakan dito. We cannot say we're against corruption pero iniilagan natin ung matatamaan.

Trabaho na raw ng ombudsman ito?

SENATOR ALAN CAYETANO: Un ang irony ng report. Trabaho na daw ng ombudsman pero sabi din niya eh wala ka maasahana sa ombudsman. So ako naniniwala na trabaho ito ng blue ribbon committee. Nagtataka lang ako sa ombudsman at bagong majority na ito, na lahat ng itanong mo ayaw. Ayaw daw ng majority leader pero majority leader sya. Ayaw ng senator maging blue ribbon committee chairman, pero siya ang blue ribbon committee chairman. Lahat ng lumapit kay Senator Villar, ayaw bumoto laban sa kanya, pero bumoto laban sa kanya. I don't understand why they're saying that it's not the work of the blue ribbon committee. Kung ang fecian ay nahuli niya and i'm congratulating him. That's why i'm telling sen. Gordon hats off, i salute your efforts, your style. But that's only 200+ million. There's another 300 million na sinasabi naman ng COA sa atin kung sino. Why not go after them and tsaka ipasa sa ombudsman para wala sila choice. It's time to put away personal attacks and focus on the issue at hand - totoo ba na dapat iabswelto ang pangulo o ituloy ung hearing?
