ANGARA: SENATE TO PASS 2010 BUDGET ON-TIME
Budget set to be heard tomorrow at the Senate

Senator Edgardo J. Angara today said that he expects the 2010 budget to pass on-time as budget hearing will start tomorrow at the Senate.

The President submitted 2010 budget of P1.541 Trillion or 8.06% higher that the adjusted budget for 2009 of P1.426 Trillion will focus on infrastructure, agriculture, education, health, poverty reduction and good governance. This reflects a continued prioritization on ongoing programs and projects to attain its nearby completion.

The 2010 budget lays the groundwork for full-scale reviving up of the economy in the coming years it simply aims to ensure a stronger, more stable economy for the next generation to build on.[1]

"By passing the 2010 budget on-time, we are expected to provide a comprehensive stimulus package for our people and the economy as a whole. This holds true since the crafted budget is aligned to focus on job creation, infra spending and human capital investments," said Angara who chairs the Senate Committee on Finance.

Budget hearing will start tomorrow at 1pm with Development Budget Coordinating Council (DBCC) at the Senate Recto-Laurel room.
