NOYNOY, MAR: DECENT AND HONEST FILIPINOS NEED DECENT LIVING
LP SENATORS FLY TO CEBU FOR 'TRABAHO PARA KANIMO' LAUNCH

Believing that decent and honest Filipinos deserve to have a decent and honest living, Senators Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas vowed to deal with the worsening unemployment in the country, stressing that an honest and decent government is a necessary prerequisite to ensuring a decent and honest living for all.

Aquino and Roxas will launch during the weekend a jobs fair in Cebu - "Trabaho Para Kanimo" - to give Cebuano jobseekers the opportunity to apply for and immediately be interviewed by companies in the Business Process Outsourcing and other industries. It will be held on October 17 at the Trade Hall 3 of SM City Cebu on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"Marami sa mga kababayan natin ang walang trabaho ngayon, hindi dahil sa hindi sila magaling. Masipag sila at matapat. Ang problema, walang pumapasok na mamumuhunan, walang nalilikhang trabaho, dahil baluktot ang gobyerno (Many Filipinos do not have jobs now, not because they're not competent. They are hardworking and honest. But there are not much investments coming in, not much jobs created, because the government is crooked)," Roxas said.

He added: "Ang kailangan para makalikha ng trabaho: tuwid at tapat na pamamahala. Dapat may transparency, honesty at integrity. Ito ang patuloy naming ipinaglalaban ni Noynoy (Having a government rooted in transparency, integrity and honesty is prerequisite to ensuring enough jobs for all. This is what Noy and I continue to fight for)."

During the "Trabaho Para Kanimo" jobs fair, applicants will have the opportunity to select job openings suited to their qualifications and employers could interview and hire on the spot qualified workers. A career talk for interested applicants will also be offered to help new graduates determine the kind of job best appropriate to their skills.

To date, the following companies have agreed to participate in the event: Aegis People Support, eTelecare, Teletech, ICT Group, Vector BPO, TeleDevelopment Services, Teletech, Qualfon, Sykes, ABM-Bayan Trade, Cebu Mitsumi, Dessert Factory, Italkarat, Jollibee Group of Companies, Korlanda, Leaders link Training and Consulting Center, Metro Gaisano, Monde Nissin, SM Supermarkets and Xlibris.

The event is organized under the Call Center Jobs MARket unit of Roxas' office. Roxas is called as the "Father of the BPO and Call Center Industry" for his instrumental role in the birth of the Philippine BPO industry.
