KIKO PANGILINAN TO PNP-STOP POINTING FINGERS
AND FACE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan expresses his dismay over the PNP's finger-pointing and laying the blame on the security guards of the Ayala Malls over the holdup incident at Greenbelt 5 last Sunday.

"Why is the PNP-NCR singling out the security guards? They are helpless against armalites and M203s! Why aren't the PNP giving us an update as to who are responsible for this robbery? Do they even have suspects? Are they going to make arrests, or are they looking to blame some more?"

Pangilinan advises the PNP to pursue evidences and facts of the case instead of washing their hands off of their responsibility.

"Where was the Makati police? When armed robbers with high-powered firearms at grenade storm into a mall, it is the police, not security guards, who are expected to respond. What chance do these security guards have against heavily armed robbers? It is the job of the PNP to protect the citizens against these robbery syndicates. This is not the work of private security agencies. If the PNP continues to blame the security guards, then we might as well abolish the PNP and hand over their tasks and responsibilities to these private security agencies."
