The Transformers tandem, the game-changers in 2010

Senator Dick Gordon today assured that he and his running mate, former Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Bayani Fernando, will be the game-changers who will offer a different kind of leadership.

Gordon, who is running for president in the May 2010 synchronized elections, said their tandem is offering transformational leadership instead of transactional, which only further deepens the roots of corruption in the government.

"It is not going to be transactional leadership, it is going to be more transformational leadership. Baguhin ang kamalayan ng mga Pilipino. My strategy is plain and simple - people want new leaders who can deliver, we have delivered," he said.

"Ang kailangan ay liderato na talagang may malasakit, may kusang loob at pinalalabas palagi ang galing ng Pilipino. Leadership is not title, it is not position; it is action. With both Bayani Fernando and me, we can promise the country a lot of action, a lot of hardwork, a lot of struggles, and a lot of effort on our part to make sure that the whole world finally respects this great country of ours," he added.

The two formalized their newly-formed alliance by filing their certificates of candidacy at the Commission of Elections (Comelec) head office last Tuesday under the Bagumbayan - Volunteers for a New Philippines Party.

They adopted the moniker "The Transformers" for their partnership, a fusion of two performers who aim to transform the hearts and minds of the people to build character and communities to create a better Philippines.

Gordon said their march over the walls of Intramuros, instead of taking the streets when they went to the Comelec symbolized their commitment to steer the country into overcoming whatever challenges and struggles that lie ahead.

"We broke the walls of Intramuros. That is why lumakad kami sa ibabaw ng Intramuros at hindi sa baba, bilang patunay na we will go over the hump," he said.

"Lalagpasan namin ang matataas na pader at matataas na bundok para madala namin ang ating bansa sa Bagumbayan," he added.
