PINOY IKAW ANG IDOL KO CARAVAN DRAWS CROWD IN LUZON

After his sucessful and crowd-drawing series of motorcade campaign in Metro Manila and Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga provinces, Senator Bong Revilla goes southward of Luzon with a grand caravan to Quezon Province and the Bicol Region.

According to the reelectionist senator, his Pinoy Ikaw ang Idol caravan aims to reach the Filipino people in all provinces and region during the campaign period. "I want to accommodate all our countrymen's invitation as long as possible, even just for a short visit. That's why we are conducting this grand caravan to maximize time. I want to personally thank our people who supported us all the way and at the same time consult them so that we will know what other measures that can be done by legislators to ease their plight," he said.

The arrival of senator's caravan in every town at city drew throngs of people from all walks of life. Children, men, women and senior citizens were all smiles and excitely welcomed him. There were even elders who were tearily-eyed after the senator shook their hands and hugged them.

The "Pinoy Ikaw ang Idol Ko" grand caravan yesterday (Wednesday, February 17) reached Alaminos and San Pablo City in Laguna and five areas in Quezon Province- Tiaong, Candelaria, Sariaya, Tayabas, Pagbilao and Lucena City - and now (Thursday, February 18) streches through the Bicol provinces- Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay and Sorsogon. "We are targeting a caravan for every province, starting from Luzon. I owe our people a lot for trusting me to be one of their representatives in the Senate. They are inspiration. Sila ang idol ko," said Revilla, who had filed more than 500 bills, 103 of which were passed into law, including those involving education, health, justice, infrastructure, youth, road safety and rural development.

Revilla clarified that his solo campaign strategy is not caused by any rumblings with his party, Lakas-KAMPI-CMD. "I already have a understanding with Lakas regarding my solo campaign. There are schedules where I and my fellow Lakas candidates will campaign together. There is no dispute on my effort to pursue my own campaign trail," he explained.

On the first week of the campaign period, Revilla visited the poor residents of Payatas in Quezon City and also Rizal Province where tens of thousands of families were devastated by floods during the wrath of typhoon Ondoy last year. He also conducted a series of motorcade in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Manila, other areas in Quezon City and also in Cavite. Laguna, Cavite, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga provinces. He was often joined by son Jolo Revilla and bestfriend Phillip Salvador.
