VOWS TO GET JUSTICE FOR MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE VICTIMS
AQUINO GETS BACKING OF ANTONINO-LED BLOC IN SOCSARGEN

GENERAL SANTOS -- Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Noynoy Aquino's presidential bid was endorsed yesterday by the Achievers with Integrity Movement (AIM), an alliance of political leaders in General Santos City, led by former Congressman Adel Antonino and incumbent Mayor Jun Acharon.

The AIM alliance won almost all the seats, including the mayoral and vice-mayoral positions, at stake in the elections of 2007. Twenty out of the 26 barangays in General Santos City are held by AIM leaders.

"Napakalaking karangalan po niyan at talagang marami tayong pananaw na pareho at alinsunod sa AIM po," Aquino, the leading presidential candidate in the latest survey, said in an interview at Bombo Radyo in this city. He noted that AIM's slogan of "No corruption at all" matches his campaign's main anti-corruption agenda.

"Pinasasalamatan po natin ang buong pamilya ng AIM at pipilitin po natin na hindi masayang ang kanilang pagsuporta at pag-endorso sa atin," he added.

The alliance also declared support for Aquino's running mate, Sen. Mar Roxas, and LP senatorial bets, Teofisto 'TG' Guingona, Jr,. and Ruffy Biazon.

In the same interview, Aquino also vowed to get justice for the 57 families of the victims of the Maguindanao massacre to prevent a repetition of the most heinous political crime in the country's post-war history.

"Importante talaga sa atin na magkaroon ng katarungan. Kailangan po may tiyak na kaparusahan kapag may ginawang krimen," he said.
