Aquino Rallies People Power Volunteers in Cebu

Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III urged Cebuanos Saturday to take part in the people power to eliminate corruption at the Convention Hall of the Sacred Heard Center, Cebu City.

The current leader in all national presidential surveys conveyed to Cebuano supporters his call for a people power against graft and corruption, which he made two days earlier during the 24th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution of 1986.

Aquino and running mate Senator Mar Roxas stressed the need for the people, particularly the youth, to fight corruption in the government, which has kept millions of Filipinos hungry, jobless, and out of school. Around 500 municipal youth coordinators, who were being trained at the People Power Volunteer Center-Cebu at the time, were inspired by the visit and vowed to bolster their efforts to ensure a victory for the LP tandem in the May polls.

Aquino and Roxas came from General Santos City to discuss with journalists from various dailies and radio stations issues affecting Mindanao such as the two-year ban on tuna fishing and the power crisis.
