GENERAL LIM PREVENTED FROM ATTENDING FORUM; KIKO PANGILINAN CONDEMNS PNP FOR DISRESPECTING COURTS

Liberal Party Senate slate campaign manager Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan condemns the PNP's refusal to have LP senatorial candidate Brigadier General Danny Lim attend a university forum despite the approval of the courts.

"The PNP has committed a gross defiance of a rule of law, and that is condemnable. Our police should be the ones enforcing the law. If they cannot do what they are mandated to do, then heads must roll."

Lim was supposed to talk at a forum in the University of the Philippines after he was granted a temporary release by the Makati RTC. The PNP also failed to comply with a court order last February when a film crew was prevented access to Lim to finish an infomercial.

"Is the PNP saying they are above the courts' ruling? There can be no acceptable explanation as to why they prevented Danny Lim from attending this event. This is harassment. This is disrespect for the judicial system."
