Proud Olongapeños welcome Gordon-Bayani with fervor
Gordon enjoins fellow townsmen to rally for change

Olongapo City-Thousands of proud OIongapeños welcomed with fervor the city's renowned son, Bagumbayan presidential candidate Sen. Richard Gordon, together with his running mate Bayani Fernando, when the tandem visited the city for their campaign sortie.

The people of Olongapo showed much enthusiasm in joining the activities, including the motorcade and campaign rally, of Gordon and Fernando, who has acknowledged the success of Olongapo as his model in changing his own town, Marikina.

In his campaign rally speech, Gordon urged his fellow Olongapeños to continue to join him in making valuable transformation, this time in the whole country, with Olongapo and Subic as their example and the "vision, values, volunteerism equals victory" formula as their weapon.

Pinatubo-ay malalagpasan natin," the former Olongapo Mayor said.

For his part, Fernando thanked the people of Olongapo for their warm welcome and asked them for their full support for the "transformers tandem".

Gordon," the Bagumbayan vice presidential bet said.

The two are former executives who both boast of a formidable track record of transforming their turfs into model cities. Gordon and Fernando are former mayors of Olongapo City and Marikina City, respectively.

Gordon is also the founding chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, who transformed the former American naval base into a Freeport and turned it into a model for successful bases conversion.

Fernando, on the other hand, is a former Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman who successfully rid Metro Manila of sidewalk vendors who create obstruction and improved vehicular and human traffic flow in the metropolis.
