I AM NOT MY FATHER'S KEEPER' - ZUBIRI

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri today distanced himself from recent developments involving his father's change of political affiliation.

Zubiri announced he, along with his brother Rep. Joey Zubiri and Rep.Pancrudo, are sticking with the Lakas-Kampi-CMD and will continue to support administration presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro.

"I apologize to my partymates on what had happened to our group in Bukidnon but nevertheless Cong.Pancrudo, Cong.Joey Zubiri and myself, Sen.Migs Zubiri stay committed to Gibo," he said.

He added: "My father has his own mind. Everyone who knows him can attest to that. We have argued long and intense with him on his decision but in the end he does what he wants."

"I am not my father's keeper and in politics we very much differ," he stressed.

Zubiri also said: "While our decision differs, I continue to stand firm in my support for the candidacy of Gilbert Teodoro and the party. However, so that I may not be misconstrued as playing safe or 'namamangka sa dalawang ilog', I shall take a back seat from this campaign and just concentrate on taking care of my wife who is about to give birth to my son this April."
