Aquino thanks Quezoñans for all-out support

Hundreds of thousands emptied out onto the streets of Quezon province on Friday to show support for leading presidential candidate Benigno S. "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Aquino and running mate Sen. Mar Roxas were mobbed by yellow-clad Quezoñans when they visited the towns of Lucena, Tayabas, Sariaya, Candelaria and Tiaong.

Heartened by the yellow ribbons blanketing the streets and the nonstop chanting of "Noynoy!", Aquino thanked the Quezoñans. He said his campaign's success was due to their overwhelming support.

"Kami ni Mar ay nakasandal talaga sa taumbayan kaya patuloy tayong nag-nunumber 1," said Aquino. "Salamat sa taumbayan at patuloy tayong sinusuportahan."

Local officials led by inventor turned governor Rafael Nantes also vowed to work for an Aquino win in Quezon. The local leaders said they believed in Aquino's capability to bring about a clean and compassionate government to put an end to corruption, the foremost cause of impunity and poverty in the country.

Aquino, who holds significant leads over other candidates in the latest Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia presidential surveys, said in earlier interviews that the "comparative advantage" of his campaign came from the "ability to mobilize volunteers all over the country."
