ROXAS' MAY 10 VICTORY ANCHORED ON 3M, PRINCIPLE AND INTEGRITY

Principles and integrity, coupled with the 3Ms (Malinis, Matapat and Matuwid) that characterize his platform of government, is what sets apart Liberal Party vice presidential candidate Senator Mar Roxas from his rivals in the May 10 national elections.

These same traits are the reasons why Roxas had the highest trust rating, not only among national and local candidates, but also among all public officials in the country - a key factor that could him at least a 10 million vote-lead in the vice presidential race.

This was the analysis made by pollster Junie Laylo on how Roxas had maintained his commanding lead over his opponents and how he had earned the trust and support of all sectors of society, as reflected in Laylo's April pre-election voter preference survey for the Manila Standard Today.

Based on the April 18 to 20 MST survey that covered 2,400 random respondents nationwide, Roxas' 40% rating was the top pick among the Class D sector, which is 18% higher than the 22% rating of Nacionalista vice presidential bet Loren Legarda and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino's Jejomar Binay.

Roxas scored 41% among the Class E sector, a big lead over Legarda's 30% and Binay's 17%. Both Legarda and Binay have claimed owning the hearts of the poorest of the poor, allegedly due to the fact that they came from this sector.

The upper and middle class likewise gave Roxas a commanding advantage over his rivals with his 49% rating. Binay, the incumbent mayor of Makati City - the metropolis' business center - was the choice of 26% of the respondents while Legarda was favored by only 10%.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating mga kababayan sa patuloy na pagtitiwala at pagsuporta sa ating kandidatura. Isusulong natin ang malinis na pamamalakad sa gobyerno upang makamit na ang matagal na inaasam na pagbabago para sa ating bayan (I am, grateful for the trust and support that Filipinos have bestowed on me. I remain committed to our promise of good governance so we can all achieve our dream of a new Philippines) ," Roxas said, adding: "Ang taumbayan ang sandigan ng aking lakas. Hinding-hindi ko kayo pababayaan (I take my strength from our people. I will never turn my back on them),"
