SEN. BONG REVILLA'S STATEMENT ON HOSTAGE DRAMA

First, I condole with the families of all the casualties and victims. Sobra akong nanlulumo. Nagagalit din ako.

The loss of innocent lives is very saddening, lalo pa't ang mga biktima ay mga turista na pumunta sa ating bansa para makita ang kagandahan ng Pilipinas.

I am also very frustrated and disheartened over the end result. It has put the country in a very bad light in the eyes of the international community.

These are trying times for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and they are under the microscope of the watchful public.

Controversy after controversy, the PNP must show that they are still worthy of the public's trust. The first step is not to point fingers and find excuses, the first step is to retrospect and admit errors so that they can be rectified and prevented from happening again. What is important is we find out what went wrong, and from there, we can hopefully move forward.
