ZUBIRI JOINS TARLAQUENOS IN REMEMBERING EDSA

Senator Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri, chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, today distributed a total of P8M from his PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund) to different municipalities in Tarlac for constructions, repairs and rehabilitation of school buildings and multi-purpose facilities. The financial support is part of Zubiri's One Town, One Project, a commitment that he started soon after he get elected as senator in 2007.

Local chief executives led by Governor Victor Yap welcomed Zubiri in the provincial capitol where they hold a brief ceremonial turnover of SARO (Special Allotment Release Order). The beneficiaries of the One Town, One Project in Tarlac are the municipalities of San Miguel, Anao, Gerona, Paniqui, Ramos, Victoria, San Jose and La Paz.

"Today is an important day in our history and I am honored to commemorate this in Tarlac where the icon of our democracy, former President Corazon Aquino, and our current President Noynoy Aquino came from," Zubiri said.

The senator from Bukidnon also encouraged the youth to be the "little Cory" of their generation when he visited the graduation ceremony of Grade 1 and Day Care teachers from Paniqui and Gerona.

After visting Tarlac, Zubiri headed to Angeles City, Pampanga to launch a leadership excellence awards project for high school and elementary students in partnership with the JCI (Junior Chamber Incorporated). Dubbed as the "Young Leaders Excellence Awards," the project is a nationwide search for students who excel in academic and civic activities.
