STATEMENT ON SENATOR ZUBIRI'S RESIGNATION

As a colleague and a friend, I am deeply saddened by Senator Zubiri's pronouncement and I know many others feel the same way. It is his call and we have no choice but to respect it. We can not blame him because of the pressures he is experiencing.

His decision is an act of a true statesman. Because of this, he truly deserves more praise and honor.

Sa panahon ng panunungkulan niya rito sa Senado, talagang pinatunayan niyang mahusay at masigasig siya sa kanyang tungkulin. Isa siyang tunay na lingkod-bayan at napakarami niyang natulungan. Nakatatak na sa kasaysayan ng Senado ang kahanga-hangang ginawa ni Senador Juan Miguel Zubiri.
