RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF REFORMS URGED

In observance of the 133rd birthday of President Manuel L. Quezon, Senator Bong Revilla, Jr. today appealed to the Filipino people to continue their active participation in nation-building despite of the numerous problems besieging the country.

In his speech during the wreath offering ceremonies for the second Philippine President at the Bantayog ni Quezon in Perce Park, Lucena City, Bong Revilla said Filipinos should be inspired by Quezon relentless pursuit of change and national independence. Aside from the admirable efforts that lead to the country's sovereignty, he also pointed out the other historic contributions of Quezon. These include the establishment of a common national language, appointment of all Filipino members in the Supreme Court and the suffrage of women in the country.

The lawmaker emphasized the importance of unity among Filipinos in order to effectively address poverty and other socio-economic problems in the country. He called for cooperation and support in the related undertakings of elected officials, including the programs of President Benigno Aquino. Huwag tayong sumuko sa paghahanap ng solusyon at reporma," he said.

Bong Revilla also urged the Filipino people to continue exercising patriotism.
